After 5 pm, on the 2nd Friday of each month, June through October, West Jefferson comes alive with art lovers strolling the streets of historic downtown West Jefferson. Numerous art galleries and studios open their galleries for the monthly Gallery Crawl while street performers meander providing live entertainment.
Jane Lonon, Executive Director of the Ashe County Arts Council said, “One of the main purposes of the Gallery Crawl is to be able to continually showcase new works being created and to offer people the chance to talk to the artists one-on-one to find out what’s behind the painting. To have that opportunity, one-on-one, in a fun non-threating environment is great.”
A special Christmas-themed gallery crawl takes place the first Friday in December from 5-8 pm!
